Overview
The Hercules Beetle (Dynastes hercules) is one of the largest flying insects in the world, with adult males reaching over 7 inches in length including their massive cephalic horns. In the canopy, males engage in epic wrestling matches, using their horns as hydraulic clamps to flip opponents.
Habitat & Biology
Native to the dense rainforest canopies of Central and South America and the Lesser Antilles, sheltering in rotting logs during daylight.
