## Species Aligned With Afrobeat

- [Coconut Crab](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/coconut-crab/) (*Birgus latro*)
  - **Musical Match**: Fela Kuti, "Zombie"
  - **Biological Rationale**: Blistering polyrhythmic horn sections and relentless groove stamina, for a crab whose strongest measured pinch hit 1,765 newtons and whose tracked males roamed several kilometers between coast and forest.
  - **Superpower**: An estimated 3,300-newton claw pinch for a 4-kilogram crab, calculated from measurements on wild animals, enough to beat the bite force of most living land predators, alligators excepted.
- [Giraffe](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/giraffe/) (*Giraffa camelopardalis*)
  - **Musical Match**: Ebo Taylor, "Love and Death"
  - **Biological Rationale**: Soaring horn sections over breezy polyrhythmic guitar vamps that sway side to side like a giraffe's pacing gait, which moves the front and back legs on one side forward together, then the two on the other side.
  - **Superpower**: Arterial blood pressure near the heart roughly double a human's, to fight gravity. A mechanical model suggests that a rise in the pressure pushing blood through the brain as the head swings back up may help stop it fainting.
