**86 species in this collection.**

- [Reindeer (Caribou)](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/reindeer/) (*Rangifer tarandus*)
  - **Superpower**: A tapetum lucidum (mirror layer behind the retina) that shifts from gold-turquoise in summer to deep blue in winter to match Arctic twilight, paired with a retina that also responds to ultraviolet light.
  - **Musical Match**: Mari Boine (Nordic Dark Folk & Ritual Atmospheric)

- [Scalloped Hammerhead](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/scalloped-hammerhead/) (*Sphyrna lewini*)
  - **Superpower**: A wide, notched head with electroreceptors on its underside. It appears to sense a weak electric field no better than a sandbar shark does, but seems to give a wider search area and sharp turns at high speed.
  - **Musical Match**: LTJ Bukem (Drum & Bass / Spatial Jungle)
- [Serval](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/serval/) (*Leptailurus serval*)

  - **Musical Match**: Hailu Mergia (Ethio-Jazz & Horn of Africa Grooves)
- [Snowy Owl](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/snowy-owl/) (*Bubo scandiacus*)
  - **Superpower**: Usually watches for prey from a perch, then swoops down in a "wallop" to snatch it with strong talons.
  - **Musical Match**: Slowdive (Dream Pop & Shoegaze)
- [Southern Stingray](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/southern-stingray/) (*Hypanus americanus*)
  - **Superpower**: Thousands of electrical sensors on its underside detect the electric field of prey buried in the sand
  - **Musical Match**: Suzanne Ciani (Krautrock & Electronic Pioneers)
- [Sperm Whale](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/sperm-whale/) (*Physeter macrocephalus*)
  - **Superpower**: A gigantic nose that fires echolocation clicks up to 236 decibels underwater, the loudest sounds known from any animal, and an oil sac of spermaceti that helps focus the sound.
  - **Musical Match**: Gojira (Sludge Metal & Abyssal Doom)
- [Striped Bark Scorpion](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/striped-bark-scorpion/) (*Centruroides vittatus*)
  - **Superpower**: A venom peptide, CvIV4, that slows the closing of Nav1.7, a sodium channel in pain-sensing nerves, plus a defense split by sex: in lab tests males sprinted faster and females stung faster.
  - **Musical Match**: ZZ Top (Classic Hard Rock & Southern Blues)
- [Striped Hyena](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/striped-hyena/) (*Hyaena hyaena*)
  - **Superpower**: Jaws that crush and swallow bones, horns and hooves, and a digestive system adapted to maximize the nutrition it gets from its food; only the horns, hooves and hair come back up.
  - **Musical Match**: Boy Harsher (Gothic Rock & Post-Punk)
- [Tasmanian Devil](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/tasmanian-devil/) (*Sarcophilus harrisii*)
  - **Superpower**: Pound for pound, no living mammal predator in a 2005 study had a higher estimated bite force than the Tasmanian devil.
  - **Musical Match**: Amyl and the Sniffers (Aussie Garage Punk & Pub Rock)
- [Tawny Owl](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/tawny-owl/) (*Strix aluco*)
  - **Superpower**: Asymmetrical ear openings that let it locate a sound from the tiny difference in when it reaches each ear.
  - **Musical Match**: Portishead (Trip-Hop & Velvet Downtempo)
- [Wels Catfish](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/wels-catfish/) (*Silurus glanis*)

  - **Musical Match**: Antonio Vivaldi (Neo-Classical & Baroque Chamber)
- [Wolverine](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/wolverine/) (*Gulo gulo*)
  - **Superpower**: Durophagous (bone-crushing) teeth, the stiffest and most crush-resistant jaw-joint bone of 40 carnivores tested, and a powerful jaw and large neck muscles that let it crush and use bones and frozen flesh.
  - **Musical Match**: Turnstile (Hardcore Punk & Post-Hardcore)
