Felines are obligate carnivores that cannot synthesize essential amino acids like taurine without meat. Their skeletons feature free-floating clavicles and ultra-flexible spinal columns that act as kinetic springs during ambush charges, paired with binocular night vision amplified by light-reflecting tapetum lucidum tissue. ## Key Evolutionary Adaptations - Protractor muscles keep razor claws locked inside protective sheaths until physical impact, preserving razor edges. - Canine teeth are spaced to slip precisely between cervical vertebrae to sever spinal cords in a single bite. - Rough papillae on feline tongues are made of backward-facing keratin hooks designed to scrape meat clean from bone. ## Member Species (20 Creatures) - [African Lion](https://animaltracks.wiki/animals/african-lion/) (*Panthera leo*) -
