Overview
The Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), also known as the Stinkbird, is an evolutionary anomaly with no close living relatives. Nesting directly over oxbow lakes, its chicks dive into the water to escape predators and use prehistoric claws on their wing joints to climb back up tree branches.
